Varsity Boys Win Capo Valley Relays

The University High School Varsity Boys Swim Team won the 2017 Capo Valley Relays Invitational today with a score of 194, beating second-place Santa Margarita Catholic by just six points. Corona del Mar, Mater Dei, and Dana Hills were the third through fifth place finishers, with 174, 172 and 170 points, respectively.

While the Varsity Trojan boys didn’t win any events outright, they took second place in three events: the 400 IM, 200 Breast and 400 Free relays. They also scored valuable points with third-place finishes in the 200 Fly and 200 Back relays, as well as a fifth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Had they not been disqualified in the Friday prelims for the 6 x 50 Free relay, their margin of victory might have been more comfortable. But that’s the nature of relay meets.

Uni Varsity Girls finished in tenth place, Frosh/Soph girls took thirteenth, and the Frosh/Soph boys finished in sixth place.
